A 28- year – old expecrant father ,Olayinka Rashidi AKA Scanley has been killed by armed notorious hoodlums ,identified as Eleda Boys in the Baga Eriyo community in the Sagamu Local Government area of Ogun State .
The deceased Rashidi was until the incident ,a surveyor at Omo Lamina Global Ventures Limited in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State .
Rashidi and one of his friends ,James Anthonia had reportedly gone for a burial ceremony in the Ogun community when they were attacked .
An eye witness to the attack ,James Anthonia ,who himself narrowly escaped death told newsmen that ” I was just lucky to be alive today . They would have killed me too .”
James narrated that ” On the 17th of August ,Rashidi and myself went to the 8th day fidau prayer for the secretary of the Eriyo family . We met many people there and we joined them .”
He added that ” Not up to one hour after we got there, some boys came with motorcycles . Almost all of them were armed . They came on a motorcycles . “
” We were very surprised that some of those ,who were at the party with us before were even members of their gang . Before we knew what was happening ,they started attacking us .”
He also stated that It was still not clear to me what was happening because I know all of them . They are all working for Ganiu Lateef , popularly known as Eleda and we don’t have any issue with them .”
” Kazeem Okaka and Sola Alagbaja AKA SS, Idris Mashanwo AKA Aloma dragged us and I struggled with then and escaped .I ran into the bush and was watching them attack Rashidi .”
Okaka was very annoyed . He shouted at them for allowing me to go . They brought out their guns and shot Rashidi in the leg and later in the hand . He fell on the floor but he was not dead then .”
James also continued that ” With the injuries to his leg and hand , Wasiu Olaribigbe AKA Epo , Sodiq Onakoya AKA Owo Epo ,Nuru Onakoya , ,Ajenise Onakoya ,,Baba Asisa .,Adisa Gbadebo AKA Aspen ,Wasiu Ogini ,Dada Doyin , Raji Kazeem , Seun Onifade ,Aderogba Adegangan ,,Morufu Ojoge .Rafiu Oyelade AKA Elekun Mefa ,Kazeem Onakoya . Akeem Akinola AKA Actor ,Saka Gbegira ,Akeem Kamson ,Sakiru Onimama AKA Shakur Dele AKA Obontey,Toyin Imisioluwa AKA Lemon and ,Wasiu Onisawa continued to beat him .”
“Later some of them spoke to each other and pushed him on a motorcycle and took him away from the place . All of them ran away from the fidau prayer .”
It was gathered that the deceased Rashidi had some months ago escaped death from the same gang ,when he was abducted .
They were reportedly taking him away ,when some people identified them forcing them to take him to the pokice station .
The deceased Rashidi regained his freedom at Zone 2 Police Station ,after the police absolved him of the allegations again him .
A police source at Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force confirmed the incident to our correspondent
The police source said that investigations have commenced into the incident .
