PART 5
David looked around the dining room, realizing with mounting horror that the luxurious vacation they had maxed out their credit cards to enjoy was about to come to a very abrupt end.
His arrogance completely shattered, he took a desperate step forward, his hands trembling as he reached out toward me.
“Mom, please,” David pleaded, his voice dropping into a pathetic, whimpering tone. “We didn’t know… we were under so much financial stress, the pressure got to us, Lilia didn’t mean what she said back then—please, you’re my mother. Can’t we talk about this? Can’t we work things out?”
“When I was sleeping in my car three nights in a row, David, you didn’t want to talk,” I said quietly, stepping back as he tried to approach. “When you told me to empty my bank accounts, you didn’t want to work things out. You made your choices, and now you get to live with the consequences.”
I turned toward the lead security officer standing beside my son.
“These passengers’ accounts are flagged for administrative review due to fraudulent billing disputes and maxed-out credit instruments,” I instructed calmly. “Escort them to the purser’s office, compile their outstanding onboard incidentals, and arrange for their immediate disembarkation at the next port of call. Revoke their suite privileges effective immediately.”
