Thai soldiers have opened fire on Cambodian civilians in the border village of Prey Chan, O’Beichoan commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, injuring five people, according to a preliminary report from local authorities.
The shooting occurred around 4 pm along the Cambodia–Thailand border — an area that has experienced rising tension in recent months. The incident took place just a day after Thailand unilaterally suspended the peace deal brokered by US President Donald Trump, following a landmine explosion along the frontier.
Authorities are investigating the incident, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
